Dear Praying Friends:
As a child, I remember how important it was to me to begin an
assignment with a clean slate – a new page. What a wonderful
thing to have a New Year, a clean slate, and the opportunity to
write upon it eternal things. May I write them well!
The Lord is opening the door for future ministry in several
far-flung locations. After reporting and serving in some
vacation Bible schools during the summer, I will have completed
the second half of my furlough. After that, I will return to
England to teach my usual classes in the fall. Then, Lord
willing, I will be serving in the Philippines, Australia, and
the island of Vanuatu from late January through the early summer
of 2009. Pray that I make His decisions in ministry
commitments.
This month I will be serving on the Navajo Reservation with the
Scott and Carrie Merritt. I really look forward to this
opportunity. Please pray with me that the Lord will teach
through me in such a way that these precious Native Americans
will catch a vision for being used of the Lord to teach His
Word. After completing the work there, I am privileged to be
in Brea Baptist for their conference and report to churches in
California and Arizona. Please pray that I will have safety
in travel as I will be driving several thousand miles.
Presently, I am trying to find part-time help to care for Mother
while I am away. My brother had two heart surgeries in January,
so I feel he needs to concentrate on healing right now and not
have the temptation to help Mom get around when he doesn’t need
to be lifting. My time frame for finding someone is getting
short, so please pray that the Lord will provide His person
soon.
