Dear Praying Friends,
I bring you greetings in
the name of our Lord. During the past 6 months, I have been on
furlough and I have greatly enjoyed reporting to some churches
and presenting my burden for missions in others. A special
highlight was leading the group lesson time and seeing 12
precious children come to the Lord during DVBS at Mother's
church. The Lord has also blessed with 3 new church partners and
many new praying friends. I have been able to replace about half
of the support lost over the past 5 years of service, and I feel
confident that the Lord will continue to meet my needs.
His faithfulness to me is ever before my eyes.
By the time you receive
this letter, I should have arrived in England to participate in
training young people to study skillfully, to organize their
thoughts, to write research papers, and most important, to teach
God's Word effectively. I surely need the Lord's help to achieve
any of this in one term! I am also scheduled for 2 ladies'
meetings and there is the possibility of another one as well.
It has been especially
wonderful to have Mother with me during the months I have been
in the USA. She will turn 98 while I am in England and we are
planning for a 100th birthday party in a couple of years. She
has settled in well at my brother's home. For all this I am
thankful. Please pray that her health will remain good and that
she will remain in good spirits once I am out of the country.
I am praying about a
place of service in Jan. and Feb. 2008 and have been trying to
get scheduled in a few new churches for next March and on
through the summer when I will complete my furlough. Please pray
that God will direct my steps, open doors, and fill my calendar
according to His will and plan.
Thank you for your
faithfulness in support and prayers.
Joyfully serving, |
